What ranking points can players earn?
The champions in the Cincinnati Open earn 1000 men’s ATP points and 900 women’s WTA points. Men who take part in the finals earn 600 ATP points and women earn 585 WTA points. Men who take part in the semi-finals earn 360 ATP points and women earn 350 WTA points. Men who take part in the quarterfinals earn 180 ATP points and women earn 190 WTA points.
What is the prize money?
When tennis players compete in tournaments, compensation depends on the round in which they lose. The payouts escalate as they continue to win. Singles draws tend to pay out more than doubles draws. Tournaments with more ranking points generally pay out more money.
In 2024, the total prize money for the ATP was $6.7 million and the total for the WTA was $3.2 million. Approximately $6.8 million went to male players and $32.2 million to female players. The 2024 men’s singles winner received over $1 million, and the runner-up received $573,090.
